At UQ, the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation, Faculty of Science and School of Agriculture and Food Sustainability aim to solve major challenges in a rapidly changing world by conducting and leading collaborative research, innovation, and capacity building through trusted partnerships in agriculture, food, and nutrition.

BEDA proactively collaborates with associations and leaders to support conferences, ensuring successful outcomes for both event organisers and local businesses. BEDA also plays a pivotal role in connecting various stakeholders, helping to enhance events and establishing opportunities for business growth and collaboration. 

To achieve this, ACIAR partners bilaterally and multilaterally with governments and institutions to grow food more efficiently, increase food system resilience, improve human nutrition, empower women and girls, reduce poverty, and manage natural resources sustainably to adapt to increasing climate variability.

These partnerships optimise economic, social and environmental benefits for partner countries, and contribute to the development of our international and Australian partner institutions’ research, policy and leadership capacities. 

From ideas to investment to innovation, FaBA works with start-ups, small- to medium-enterprise, and corporate companies to develop research capabilities for the sector, to drive commercialisation and to deliver value to the F&B industry.

4. The FaBA Training Centre. 

FaBA is proudly hosted by The University of Queensland, in collaboration with partners QUT, the University of Southern Queensland and UniQuest. It is supported by the Australian Government’s Department of Education through the Trailblazer Universities Program. 

The QUT Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy brings together expertise in agriculture, biotechnology and bioeconomy to deliver high-quality, impactful research to sustainably feed the world and develop cleaner, greener bioproducts. We focus on technologies and systems to tackle the challenges of growing populations, increasing energy demands, climate change impacts, biosecurity threats and competition for scarce resources.

The Queensland Government’s Department of Primary Industries plays a vital role supporting and advancing our agriculture, fisheries and forestry sectors. It offers expertise and support to help industry increase productivity, expand markets and adapt to change. It delivers world-class research, development and extension, biosecurity measures and strategic policy advice.
